Unlike the other characters, he is a completely bare puppet aside from his eyes and wears no accessories or clothes, except on special occasions. Oobi dreams of becoming a piano player and takes piano lessons from an old woman named Inka.
Oobi is an American children's television series produced by Little Airplane Productions. The show's concept is based on a technique used by puppeteers in training, in which they use their hands and a pair of ping pong balls instead of a full puppet. The main characters are bare hand puppets with eyes and accessories, played by Muppet performers.

A brief clip from Elmo's World appears in Sesame Street's 2002–2006 intro. In 2009, Elmo's World went on hiatus. It was replaced by Elmo: The Musical in 2012, and returned in 2017. The show is alternated by two more Elmo-centered segments, Elmo & Tango’s Mysterious Mysteries and Nature Explorers, which are both produced entirely with animation.
