Potassium peroxymonosulfate per se is a relatively obscure salt, but its derivative called Oxone is of commercial value. Oxone refers to the triple salt 2KHSO 5 ·KHSO 4 ·K 2 SO 4. As such about one third by weight is potassium peroxymonosulfate. Oxone has a longer shelf life than does potassium peroxymonosulfate.
An example SDS, including guidance for handling a hazardous substance and information on its composition and properties. A safety data sheet (SDS), [1] material safety data sheet (MSDS), or product safety data sheet (PSDS) is a document that lists information relating to occupational safety and health for the use of various substances and products.
Potassium persulfate can be prepared by electrolysis of a cold solution potassium bisulfate in sulfuric acid at a high current density. [1] [4]2 KHSO 4 → K 2 S 2 O 8 + H 2. It can also be prepared by adding potassium bisulfate (KHSO 4) to a solution of the more soluble salt ammonium peroxydisulfate (NH 4) 2 S 2 O 8.
2-Iodoxybenzoic acid (IBX) is an organic compound used in organic synthesis as an oxidizing agent. This periodinane is especially suited to oxidize alcohols to aldehydes.IBX is most often prepared from 2-iodobenzoic acid and a strong oxidant such as potassium bromate and sulfuric acid, [1] or more commonly, oxone.
5, usually in the form of Oxone (2KHSO 5 ·KHSO 4 ·K 2 SO 4). [3] The preparation of DMDO is rather inefficient (typical yields < 3%) and typically only yields a relatively dilute solution in acetone (only up to approximately 0.1 M). This is tolerable as preparation uses inexpensive substances: acetone, sodium bicarbonate, and oxone. Cold ...

Manufacturers provide a material safety data sheet (MSDS; also 'safety data sheet', SDS) for each hazardous chemical they produce. MSDSs are typically used and affixed by regulation at worksites handling those chemicals. An MSDS includes workplace health aspects, restrictions, emergency numbers, and other safety information. Risk and Safety Statements, also known as R/S statements, R/S numbers, R/S phrases, and R/S sentences, is a system of hazard codes and phrases for labeling dangerous chemicals and compounds. The R/S statement of a compound consists of a risk part (R) and a safety part (S), each followed by a combination of numbers. Each number corresponds to a ...
