Maryland Route 235 (MD 235) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland.Known as Three Notch Road, the state highway runs 30.63 miles (49.29 km) between its southern intersection with MD 5 in Ridge and its northern intersection with MD 5 near Mechanicsville.
The Three Notch Trail is a 10.6-mile (17.1 km) (26 mile planned), [1] shared-use rail trail in the US state of Maryland.It currently runs on the right-of-way of the old U.S. Naval Air Station Railroad from Deborah Drive in Hughesville, MD just inside Charles County to Baggett Park in Mechanicsville, MD with several short, disconnected sections in the California, MD area.

The road is known locally as Augusta–Aiken Road. Reaching the historic central area of Aiken, the route turns to a divided road again as the name changes to Richland Avenue, and the route becomes heavily residential with a wide, tree-lined median down the middle. US 1 leaves Richland Avenue and US 78 to turn north on York Street.
