"Reckoning" is a two-part episode from Season 8 of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1. It resolves the long-running story arcs of the Goa'uld, the Replicators, and the Jaffa Rebellion, and are regarded as two of the most popular episodes of the series. [1]

The Replicators are first mentioned, but not named, in season three episode "Fair Game". The one-hour premiere " Into the Fire ", which debuted on June 25, 1999, on Showtime did not receive any syndication rating, but overall got a high viewership level.
The Asgard have called all the Replicators in the Asgard galaxy to one planet, Hala, but the time dilation device that was meant to trap them on the planet forever has failed to activate. The Asgard want SG-1 to use the Prometheus to find out why. Unfortunately, what they find is that the Replicators have accelerated time and evolved to human form.
Since the eighth season of Stargate SG-1 was intended to be the last, the producers finished it with the defeat of the Goa'uld and Replicators. When the Sci Fi Channel renewed the series, however, the producers had grown tired of writing creative endings.
