Sumiyoshi-kai is a confederation of smaller yakuza groups. Its current head (会長 oyabun) is Isao Seki. Inagawa-kai (稲川会) The Inagawa-kai is the third-largest yakuza family in Japan, with roughly 3,300 members. It is based in the Tokyo-Yokohama area and was one of the first yakuza families to expand its operations outside of Japan.
The Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi yakuza organization included Kobe-based Yamaken-gumi, Osaka-based Takumi-gumi, and Kyoyu-kai . They broke away from The Sixth Yamaguchi-gumi in 2015 and formed a new group called Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi. [2] The authorities closely monitored this split to try and relax tensions that exist between the groups.
The group was formed in 1948 as the Goda-gumi (合田組, Gōda-gumi) in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi by Koichi Goda, then a member of an old yakuza clan, the Kagotora-gumi. The Goda-gumi was renamed the Goda-ikka in 1968. [3] It was registered as a designated yakuza group under the Organized Crime Countermeasures Law in July 1992. [4]

Kenichi Shinoda (篠田 建市, Shinoda Ken'ichi, born January 25, 1942), also known as Shinobu Tsukasa (司 忍, Tsukasa Shinobu), is a Japanese yakuza and the sixth and current kumicho (supreme kingpin, or chairman) of the Yamaguchi-gumi, Japan's largest yakuza organization.
