Ninetales (/ ˈ n aɪ n t eɪ l z /), known in Japan as Kyukon (Japanese: キュウコン), is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. First introduced in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue, it evolves from the Pokémon Vulpix, both having the Fire type and only being available in Blue without trading.
Ken Sugimori (Japanese: 杉森 建, Hepburn: Sugimori Ken, born January 27, 1966 in Fukuoka, Japan [1]) is a Japanese video game designer, illustrator, manga artist, and director. [2] He is best known as the primary character designer and art director for the Pokémon franchise.
Predating the video game company, Game Freak was a self-published video game magazine created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori in the 1980s. The first issue was published in 1983 by Tajiri. [3] Sugimori would join the magazine at a later date as an illustrator after finding the magazine in a shop and liking it. [4]
