The United Airlines Rock 'n' Roll Running Series - Washington DC, formerly known as the National Marathon, is an annual half marathon and 5k held in Washington, D.C. since 2006. The half marathon and formerly offered marathon distance races take place entirely within Washington, D.C., and finish near RFK Stadium.
In 2008, the Competitor Group took over Elite Racing, the company that had been organizing the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. The following year, 2009, an internal audit revealed that the charity in whose name the race had been run, Elite Racing Foundation for Children, Education & Medical Research, had been improperly commingling funds with the for-profit Elite Racing.
The GWSA produces the Rock 'n' Roll Washington DC Marathon, held annually in Washington, D.C. [3] It is also heavily involved in promoting other regional sporting events including Tiger Woods' AT&T National golf tournament, the Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic, the FLW Outdoor Bass Fishing Tournament, and America's Polo Cup.

The Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon was an annual marathon held in Seattle, Washington, since 2009. The race weekend also includes a half marathon and a 5K. It was part of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series organized by Advance Publications' Ironman Group. The 2020 edition of the race was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. [7]
