Great Pond is a 50 ha saline coastal lagoon on the south-eastern shoreline of the island of Saint Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. The pond is part of St Croix East End Marine Park. It the second largest salt pond in the Virgin Islands, [1] and is one of the largest remaining mangrove tracts in St. Croix.
Estate Little Princess is a historic plantation site located northwest of Christiansted in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.It was first owned by governor Frederik Moth in 1738 and rests on 25 acres of land (from the original 200 acres). [2]
John Gottliff (also known as Moses Gotlieb, General Bordeaux, or Buddhoe) had led 8,000 blacks in a freedom march to Frederiksted. At the time, there were 17,000 slaves and 5,000 free blacks on St. Croix. [5] The fort includes a museum and art gallery, it is open weekdays from 8:30am to 4pm, and Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm. Admission is $3 (2015).
