The Mitchell Street neighborhood is the heart of a densely populated area of Milwaukee's near south side. Most of the houses in the neighborhood are two- or three-story Polish flats, but this area also has a fair amount of five to six-story brick walk-ups and apartment buildings. Mitchell Street is a popular and vibrant retail district.
