Lake Ray Hubbard, formerly Eastern Dallas Lake or Forney Lake, is a freshwater impoundment located in Dallas, Texas in the counties of Dallas, Kaufman, Collin, and Rockwall, just north of the City of Forney. [1] It was created by the construction of the Rockwall-Forney Dam, which impounded the East Fork Trinity River.

In 1990, SH 78 was flooded, as engineers at the Lake Lavon Dam decided to release the water from the lake into the East Fork of the Trinity River. For a month and a half, the traffic going between Wylie and the eastern portion of Collin County was diverted to go through the city of Rockwall, a nearly 20-mile (32 km) detour.
East Fork State Park It maintains the 33-mile "Steve Newman World-Walker" perimeter trail, camping, hiking, swimming, and boating opportunities. [ 2 ] The state park has hosted junior and collegiate rowing races, including the US Rowing Youth National Championships . [ 3 ]
The West Fork Miller River begins at the ridge dividing it and Dream Lake, from where the Big Creek is a tributary to the Taylor River. [5] It flows northeast from there, converging with the East Fork near the West Fork Campground. Its only officially named tributaries are Cleopatra and Coney Creeks.
