Brownfield is a city in and the county seat of Terry County, Texas, United States. [5] Its population was 8,936 at the 2020 census . [ 2 ] Brownfield is 39 miles (63 km) southwest of Lubbock .
As of the census [2] of 2000, 658 people, 213 households, and 177 families resided in the town. The population density was 411.3 inhabitants per square mile (158.8/km 2).The 236 housing units averaged 147.5 per square mile (57.0/km 2).
