The Reading Public Library (RPL) is the main public library of the City of Reading, Pennsylvania and the district library center (DLC) of Berks County.RPL's services and collections serve the City of Reading, its suburbs, greater Berks County, and beyond.
Library opening hours are Wednesday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM and Saturday, 8AM to 4PM. Access to the library is free for members of the Historical Society of Berks County. There is a charge of $7 per day for library access for non-members. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. [4]
Designed and built between 1903 and 1904, with funds provided in part by the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the Hamburg Public Library is one of three thousand similar public libraries that were constructed between 1885 and 1919. The building is an L-shaped, 1 + 1 ⁄ 2-story, brick structure, which was designed in the Romanesque Revival style.
