In 1968, Collier County purchased Everglades Airpark from the Collier family for $125,000. [2] In 1993, the Collier County Airport Authority was created to manage the development and operations of three local, publicly owned airports—Everglades Airpark, Immokalee Regional Airport, and Marco Island Executive Airport.
