Austin Bluffs began to be annexed into the city of Colorado Springs beginning December 1888 and in many sections from 1894 to 2013. [ 10 ] [ c ] In 1890, plans to make Austin Bluffs were underway: the area had its own water system, had laid out the lots for residential housing, and was added to Colorado Springs trolley service. [ 11 ]
Northridge Reach (south) — The Austin Bluffs Trail is not directly accessed from the Greenway Trail, but it is a short distance east of the trail on Garden of the Gardens Road and off of Nevada Avenue. Reservoir Reach — travels along Skateboard Park and Pikeview Reservoir; Templeton Gap Reach — passes by the Gossage Youth Sports Complex.

Templeton Gap is a narrow outlet below a semicircular range of rocky hills that is about 800 feet (240 m) higher in elevation than the city of Colorado Springs. [1] It is located between the hills and bluffs north of the intersection of Union Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway.
One of the trails is the Edna Mae Bennet Nature trail, [11] a 2.6 miles (4.2 km) trail in the rocky bluffs of the park with views of ravines, canyons, and rock formations. [13] Other noted trails are Templeton Trail and Yucca Flats. [4] There is a dog run, like Bear Creek Dog Park. [14]

The History of Travis County and Austin states "The Mormons are credited with construction, in 1846, of one of Travis County's oldest roads to the northwest, the one that today is a scenic drive along Bull Creek to the Spicewood Springs Road, and which then led to a mill on Bull Creek used after the Mormon Mill washed away".
