This move proved unpopular, and in 2018 a new Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) modeled after World War II-era officers garrison uniforms was announced.
The designation came from the U.S. Army's coloring code "Olive Green 107", which was the shade of dark green used on the original cotton version of the uniform. The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is the current combat uniform worn by the United States Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force and some elements of the U.S. Coast Guard. Within the Air Force and Space Force, it is referred to as the OCP ( Operational Camouflage Pattern ) Uniform , rather than the Army Combat Uniform.
Currently, two patterns are in use: AOR-1, which is primarily tan, and AOR-2 (shown above), which is primarily green. Coast Guard – ODU Coast Guard members assigned to deployed or deployable units and those cross-assigned to Navy commands wear the NWU.
