The Yamaha XT225, or known in some markets as the Yamaha Serow (from the Japanese serow), was a dual-sport motorcycle produced by Yamaha from 1986 to 2007. The XT225 was preceded and superseded by the XT250.
The Yamaha DT250 was preceded by the 1968 DT-1. The DT250 began production in 1971 and was produced through 1982. Other models produced in the DT250 group were the DT250F and DT250MX. [2]
The development of the CT series commenced during the mid-1990s, with work on the programme starting only a few years after the founding of Flight Design in 1993. [2] Prior to the CT series, the firm specialised in the design and production of light aircraft, such as hang gliders and powered microlights.

The wings have full-span ailerons, while the tail features conventional elevators and rudder. The landing gear is a tricycle gear arrangement with bungee suspension on the main wheels. The nosewheel is steerable and mainwheel brakes are an available option. The reported construction time for the single seat models is 100 hours. [1] [5]
