Southwick Beach State Park is a New York State park that lies along an unusual stretch of sandy beach on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario. The park is 464 acres (188 ha) in size with a 3,500 foot (1,100 m) length of beach, and is visited annually by about 100,000 people. [ 1 ]
Mirror is a hamlet in Lacombe County within central Alberta, Canada. [2] It is located at the junction of Highway 50 and Highway 21 , approximately 42 km (26 mi) east of Lacombe and 52.2 km (32.47 mi) northeast of Red Deer .
The park features some of the greatest biodiversity in Calgary, [8] with over 300 plant species and over 200 species of birds being recorded in the park. The Barry Erskine Bridge has a large colony of cliff swallows nesting under it, and the meadows in the park are one of the only places in Calgary to have breeding calliope hummingbirds .
Pancake Bay beach with beach grass in foreground. Pancake Bay is a sheltered, south-facing bay on the eastern shore of Lake Superior, north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. A 5.5-kilometre (3.4 mi) sand beach lines the bay of which 3.5 km are within the park boundary. The bay is sand filled and shallow, which helps to warm the lake.
It is a natural environment-class Provincial Park created to help preserve oak savannah and the beach dune ecology. It has 1,275 sites of which 404 have electrical hookups. These include the yurt camping area and the group camping sites. The initial package of land for the park was purchased from the Canada Company in 1957. [3]
