    woogle or Searxng if you fancy selfhosting on a pi. DuckDuckGo and Brave search are good. Perplexity for quick searches on topics that may require more sources. I've been using Qwant a fair bit. It's pretty good for academic sources. Duckduckgo (and ddgr from a terminal) and Startpage. Presearch.

    I AM NOT INTERESTED IN the following search engine alternatives: Brave. Bing. Duck Duck Go. You.com. Anything else that is in ANY way supported by advertisers. I want a search engine that gives me the kind of results Google used to give up until 2015 - that is, a search engine that can actually be used to FIND things.

    Imgops. It combines a few search engine including yandex. Yandex. I've had way better results with Yandex than Google reverse image search by far, haven't used Baidu much so can't say. Primeyes seems really good at finding similar pics that are adult content but NOT the actual person you’re searching.

    Mojeek is another good search to try. They are both independent with own crawlers and unbiased (or less biased) results, unlike anything based on Google or Bing, like popular DuckDuckGo, which also tracks you around internet. As for Browsers.. Avoid Chrome, Edge and Yandex. Other browsers will be OK.
