Yeah, it’s sad because AnimeLab and it’s delivery was fantastic, they averaged 4.7/5 rating on Apple Store, while Funimation struggled with an appalling 2.6/5 rating. That been said, I’ve been a paid subscriber to Funimation (in the past), and both AnimeLab and Crunchyroll going in 4+ years now.
AnimeLab has 700 shows to Funimation's AU's 491. If that's not bad enough, the AnimeLab then adds 135 movies on top of that. By comparison, Funimation US indicates that it has 766 shows. As it stands today, AnimeLab has 231 shows that Funimation AU doesn't have, and Funimation AU has 18 shows that AnimeLab doesn't have.
One thing to consider is that Animelab and Funimation's premium subscription options are at odds with each other. There are no shows that Funimation locks away behind a premium subscription, though I do believe they lock English dubs behind it. Animelab locks some shows behind a subscription, but also movies.
