  2. Should i use Unreal Engine 3 in 2022? : r/unrealengine - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/s1qahf/should_i_use_unreal_engine_3_in_2022

I just worked on a system from the same year as UE3 that was 64bit. Either buy a flash drive or use Godot. Learning UE3 in 2022 is beyond a dead end and uphill battle. I think that on the rendering side of things there are some things that UE3 did that I wish UE5 would allow for but beyond nostalgia and a touch of insanity I would highly ...

  3. My Experience with Unreal Engine 5.4 : r/unrealengine - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/1br1h19/my_experience_with_unreal_engine_54

I decided to try 5.4 and here is my experience. The Sequencer/Skeletal mesh editor has been improved 5000%. Like, DAYM, no matter who worked on those things knows what they're doing and it's a breeze to work with, it crashes a lot less, it's more smooth and feels super refined with no noticle bugs at all besides 1 that is still in the skeletal ...

Edit: Debug symbols, not source code, take up a lot of space. 2. Fun-Wrangler-9223. • 1 yr. ago. I think the reason is nanite and lumen, amongst other things. If I could offer a solution. UE5 is just released, and is only at 5.1... ue4.27 is complete and only 13 GB. Perhaps start there to see if you like Unreal Engine.

SOLLUTION (for me) Ok.. so for anyone else coming here with the same issue. Go to Edit -> Project settings. In the search bar type "DirectX". There should be only one option popping up (Default RHI) If it says "DirectX12" then put it to 11. No more crashing for me. u/NefariousnessDear853.

  6. Help Getting Unreal Engine 3 : r/unrealengine - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/wfobl1/help_getting_unreal_engine_3

Remaining up to date on new software, features, assets, systems, and hardware is imperative to success in the 3D industry. You really don't need a $5000 PC to get started, but wasting time on 16-year-old software with zero support or updates won't get you anywhere either and will in fact put you in a worse position. 3.

I am using Unreal for the 1st time (5). I took 5min to compile shaders when opening the editor and again when making a project. Followed this and now it is instant. It immediately goes past it. Specs: Intel core i5-13600k Nvidia 3080 SN850x

    www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/xj7tyh/unreal_engine_503_size_is...

Unreal Engine 5.03 size is extremely large. Help. I just installed UE5 version 5.0.3 and after finishing, it takes literally around 120 GB! I don't have a lot of storage space and cannot afford so much for not even seriously using the software as a profession but rather just trying it out and exploring other things than Unity.

  10. Unreal Engine 3 download : r/unrealengine - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/68jw6i/unreal_engine_3_download

UE3 was never publicly available. It's been distributed as UDK. Take a look at this forum thread. It should have any version you might need. It's not open source and not maintained though. Meaning it can very well break or have unexpected behavior as our software environment changes with no chance of fixing.

  11. How much did Unreal Engine 3 cost? : r/unrealengine - Reddit

Epic also gave away free UE3 licenses to companies that would use the engine so well that their game would be like free advertising for Epic. Note that UE4/5 are NOT free. You are supposed to pay 5% after 1million of gross revenue so a 50$ game selling 1 million copies will have to pay 2.45 millions in engine license fee.
