New Holland is located in eastern Lancaster County at (40.102095, -76.087646 The municipality is an enclave of Earl Township. Pennsylvania Route 23 passes through the borough as Main Street, leading east 11 miles (18 km) to Morgantown and west 14 miles (23 km) to Lancaster, the county seat.
The railroad constructed the Hotel Ottawa, and Association members gradually began constructing cottages on the lots. The first cottage was built in 1887–88, and by 1890 about twenty cottages were built. [2] In addition to Association members, the resort attracted summer boarders at the hotel, as well as day trippers visiting the beach itself.
The Lincoln Castle Hotel is a hotel and grade II listed building in New Holland, Lincolnshire. Built by William Kirk of Lincoln for the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, the hotel was opened in 1851 as the "Yarborough Arms". [1] It was one of the first buildings built in the village.
Its well-known beaches include Weekapaug Beach, Westerly Town Beach, Misquamicut State Beach, East Beach, and Watch Hill Beach. The Town of Westerly was known historically for local important granite mining and stone-cutting industry, which ran until the quarries stopped operating in the 1950s.
