The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ; "New Journal of Zürich") is a Swiss, German-language daily newspaper, published by NZZ Mediengruppe in Zürich. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The paper was founded in 1780. It has a reputation as a high-quality newspaper, as the Swiss-German newspaper of record , and for detailed reports on international affairs.

NZZ (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) Mediengruppe (also known as AG für die Neue Zürcher Zeitung) is a media company which deals with the activities related to the newspaper, magazine, book publishing and television broadcasting in Zürich, Switzerland. The company has products for the German-speaking regions of the country. [1]
NZZ Geschichte was first published on 16 April 2015 as a quarterly magazine. [1] [2] The magazine is part of the NZZ Mediengruppe and based in Zürich. [1] It publishes articles on Swiss and international history written by historians. [3] The frequency of the magazine was switched to bimonthly later. [4]
On December 7, 2017, AZ Medien and the NZZ Media Group announced the formation of the joint venture, which is owned equally by both groups. The two media companies contributed their regional newspapers and associated online portals as well as their radio and television stations to the new CH Media company.

The paper is part of St. Galler Tagblatt AG of which 70% is owned by NZZ Mediengruppe, [1] parent company of Neue Zürcher Zeitung. [3] St. Galler Tagblatt described itself as "bourgeois-liberal" with a tendency towards liberal democrats until the 1990s. [4] In 1997, St. Galler Tagblatt had a circulation of 119,391 copies. [5]
The Basellandschaftliche Zeitung was founded in 1854 as a mouthpiece for the political establishment.The company remained independent until 2006 when it was sold to AZ Median. In October 2018, it was taken over by the joint venture of CH Media, a partnership between the NZZ Media Group and AZ Medien. [3]
