The Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint-Jérôme (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Hieronymi Terraebonae) is a Latin rite suffragan of the Archdiocese of Montréal. Its cathedral episcopal see is Cathédrale Saint-Jérôme, dedicated to Saint Jerome (Hieronumus), in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec .
The Diocese of Mont-Laurier (Latin: Dioecesis Montis Laurei) was a former Latin Church diocese that included part of the Province of Quebec. On 1 June 2022 the diocese was merged with the diocese of Saint-Jérôme, becoming the Diocese of Saint-Jérôme–Mont-Laurier .

In 1950, the sculptor Médard Bourgault was invited to replace them with wooden statues that now represent one of the attractions of this church.

Modeste Demers was born 11 October 1809, in Saint-Nicolas, Quebec, in Lower Canada. [2] Of French descent, he studied at the seminary of Quebec and was ordained on February 7, 1836 by Archbishop Joseph Signay. [2] After becoming a priest in 1836, he left the following year to be a missionary at the Red River Colony.
