Sacred Heart is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Dio and the last to feature guitarist Vivian Campbell. It was released on August 12, 1985, [ 1 ] on Warner Bros. Records in North America, and Vertigo elsewhere.
Sacred Heart (1985) reached gold status in the US, and was the last Dio album to achieve any sales certifications. The single "Rock 'N' Roll Children" charted at 26 in the UK. In 1987, the band released Dream Evil.

"Rock 'N' Roll Children" is the sixth single released by heavy metal band Dio, appearing on their 1985 LP, Sacred Heart. It reached number 26 on the Billboard Top Album Tracks chart. By coincidence, it also reached number 26 in the UK Singles Chart in August 1985, and remains their most successful release in the United Kingdom to date.
Ronnie James "Dio" Padavona was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, [13] to Italian-American parents [4] Patrick and Anna from Cortland, New York.His family moved to Portsmouth from Cortland as part of his father's service in the U.S. Army during World War II, [14] and they resided there for only a short time before returning to Cortland.
Around the release of the band's debut Holy Diver in May 1983, Claude Schnell joined as Dio's first full-time keyboardist. [4] After two more studio albums – The Last in Line and Sacred Heart – as well as live release Intermission, Campbell left the band in March 1986. [5] He was replaced by former Giuffria guitarist Craig Goldy. [6]
The album was a success and included Dio's biggest hit, "Rainbow in the Dark". A concert video, called In Concert , from this tour was released. The band also played at The 4th Monsters of Rock festival at Castle Donington, England in August 1983 and Monsters of Rock, Nuremberg, Germany in 1984.
