Camelot Theme Park was a resort and theme park located in Charnock Richard, Lancashire, England. The park's theme was the legend of Camelot, and the park decor incorporated pseudo-medieval elements. It was located on a 140-acre (57 ha; 0.22 sq mi) site [1] owned by The Story Group and was operated by Knights Leisure.
After Portopialand closed in March 2006, the roller coaster was acquired by Camelot Theme Park and was dismantled and shipped to the United Kingdom. It cost the park £3 million to build the roller coaster. The track and trains arrived at Camelot at the end of 2006, without the mountain structure that initially enclosed it.
An Arthurian television series Camelot was also named after the castle, as were some other works including the video game Camelot and the comic book series Camelot 3000.
