The Stena Estrid is a passenger and vehicle 'Ro-Pax' ferry which sails for Stena Line on its Holyhead–Dublin route. [1] She is the first ferry in the E-Flexer class, [2] and was delivered to the company on 15 November 2019. [3] [4] She made her maiden commercial crossing between Holyhead and Dublin on 13 January 2020. [5]
This route's final commercial crossing was made on 30 September 2015. [7] Rosslare – Cherbourg (route and ship taken over by Celtic Link Ferries in 2005; now operated by Stena Line) Dublin – Cherbourg (2001–2004). This route no longer exists though a new route linking the two ports has since been established by Irish Ferries.
The Newhaven-Dieppe service was closed in early 1999. P&O Stena was replaced on the route by Transmanche Ferries and Hoverspeed. In April 2002, P&O announced its intention to buy out the 40% stake in P&O Stena Line owned by Stena and this was completed by August. P&O Stena Line then became part of P&O Ferries.

P&OSL operated eleven vessels, eight of which provided a freight and passenger service on the Dover–Calais route and the remaining three a freight service on the Dover–Zeebrugge route. In August 2002, P&O acquired Stena Line's 40% share of P&OSL, which were re-merged with the Portsmouth and North Sea operations under the P&O Ferries brand.
