Bougainvillea (/ ˌ b uː ɡ ən ˈ v ɪ l i. ə / BOO-gən-VIL-ee-ə, US also / ˌ b oʊ-/ BOH-) is a genus of thorny ornamental vines, bushes, and trees belonging to the four o' clock family, Nyctaginaceae.
The flowers are produced in clusters at the ends of long stems, with four white petals up to 4 cm (1 + 1 ⁄ 2 in) long and numerous yellow stamens. At the height of flowering, the plant is covered in a mass of blossoms. The flowers have a heavy, sweet scent similar to orange blossoms with a hint of pineapple. [4]
The chukar is a rotund 32–35 cm (13–14 in) long partridge, with a light brown back, grey breast, and buff belly. The shades vary across the various populations. The face is white with a black gorget. It has rufous-streaked flanks, red legs and coral red bill. Sexes are similar, the female slightly smaller in size and lacking the spur. [2]
