County Road 44 (Norwegian: Fylkesvei 44) is a county road which runs from the town of Flekkefjord in Agder county to the city of Stavanger in Rogaland county. The section of the road between Søyland and Ogna in the municipality of Hå has, together with almost all of County Road 507, been designated as National Tourist Routes for the landscape of Jæren. [1]
Egersund has good connections by road to the cities of Stavanger and Kristiansand, via the European route E39 highway. There is also a more scenic coastal highway Norwegian County Road 44 . There is an hourly train connections northwards to Stavanger, while express and regional trains run southwards towards Kristiansand and Oslo.

The coat of arms was granted on 25 November 1960 as the arms of the town of Levanger. The arms show a gold-colored horse on a red background. The horse is a symbol for the town as a major trading center between Sweden and Norway for many centuries.
