The FIM Motocross World Championship is a worldwide motocross series sanctioned by the F.I.M. It was inaugurated in 1957 using a 500 cc engine displacement formula. [1] In 1962 a 250cc class was added and in 1975, a 125cc class was introduced. Prior to 1957, the championship was known as the European Championship.
The 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 68th FIM Motocross World Championship season. [1] In the MXGP class, Jorge Prado started the season as the reigning champion after picking up his third world title in 2023. The reigning MX2 world champion, Andrea Adamo, defended his title as well.

The winner will receive 10 points down to tenth place gaining 1. These points will not count for towards the overall score for the grand prix, but will count towards the championship standings.
Grant Langston (born 17 June 1982), is a South African former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1998 to 2000 and in the AMA Motocross Championships from 2001 to 2008. He was the 2000 125cc motocross world champion and the AMA 450MX national champion in 2007.
