Three years have passed since Boruto fled Konoha with Sasuke, hunted as a traitor and framed for the murder of his father. Sarada pleads with Shikamaru, now acting as the Eighth Hokage in an unofficial capacity, to lift the execution order on Boruto. Sarada's discussions with Sumire, Eida, and Daemon about the technique yield no solution.
