Students from the community of Damon attend Needville High since Damon Independent School District did not have a high school. Damon ISD signed a contract with Needville ISD in 1949 so Damon ISD residents could go to school at Needville High. [2] In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. [4]
The original Needville High School building was reported on fire at around 3:45 AM on April 24, 2007. 21 area fire departments responded but by 6:00 AM the building was still a fireball. As of 7:00 PM, the 1937 building was reduced to smoldering rubble with fire fighters and investigators still at the scene along with spectators.
Needville is located in southern Fort Bend County at (29.398232, –95.839880 Texas State Highway 36 passes through the city, leading north 11 miles (18 km) to Rosenberg and southeast 21 miles (34 km) to West Columbia.

It serves grades 9th through 12 and is part of the Pasadena Independent School District. The principal (as of June 26, 2019) is Mrs. Laura Gomez. Pasadena High School's mascot is an eagle named "Baldy".
