The brand name "Pan Pacific Hotels" was born when Japanese conglomerate Tokyu Group established its new marketing identity and sales network for its hotels in 1975, under Tokyu Hotels International. The first Pan Pacific hotel established was Sari Pan Pacific (now Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection ) in Jakarta , which was opened in 1976.
It is a member of the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts chain, and is Shangri-La's first North American property. The hotel occupies floors Ground to 15 with 119 rooms (including a presidential suite on the 15th floor). There is no 4th or 13th floor. The hotel includes 5-star services such as restaurants, shops, and Chi The Spa at Shangri-La. [1]
HotelTonight was founded in December 2010 by Sam Shank, Jared Simon, and Chris Bailey. [8] It first launched in January 2011, in the US on the iPhone App Store. [9] The app later launched on Google Play in July 2011 and serves cities in Europe, Canada, Central America and South America.
For the first time, many of Canada's railway hotels were operated by the same company. In 2001, Canadian Pacific Hotels was renamed Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, using the name of an American company it had purchased in 1999.
