The annual showcase event will take place from 13 - 17 October 2024 in the Fraser Valley cities of Abbotsford and Chilliwack, co-hosted by the Vancouver Canucks.The event is an opportunity for NCAA coaches and NHL scouts to observe all 21 teams playing two regular season games each.

The existence of the two Junior A leagues in British Columbia caused an unusual turn of events in the 1977–78 season postseason. The BCJHL sent their regular season champion, the Merritt Centennials , to play as the BC representative in the Pacific region (BC and Alberta) interprovincial Doyle Cup , excusing them from the BCJHL playoffs.

The 2022 BCHL showcase took place in Chilliwack From October 17 to October 20, 2022. [ 1 ] Many other special events took place during the season, such as the All-Star and Top Prospect games to be held in Penticton in January, as well as the BCHL Road Show taking place in Burns Lake on February 18 and 19, 2023.
On January 24, 2022, the BCHL announced that the end date of the regular season had been moved from Marth 20 to March 27 in order to make up games missed as a result of the pandemic and from the extreme weather events, with a tentative playoffs start date of April 1. This allowed all teams to play full 54 game schedules. [8]
On 31 March 2024, it was announced that the Merritt Centennials would be ceasing BCHL operations at the end of the 2023-24 BCHL season. [32] It was further announced that an expansion team would join the KIJHL under new ownership beginning in the 2024–25 season as part of the Bill Ohlhausen Division.
