East Thanet is a British parliamentary constituency in the Isle of Thanet in Kent, represented since 2024 by Polly Billington of the Labour Party.The seat previously existed, under the name Thanet East, from 1974 to 1983, returning one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

Mount Albion House - 22 Victoria Road, Ramsgate. Mount Albion House was built in 1798 by a local miller named John Marshall. [20] It was the home of Augusta Emma d'Este. Dr. John Collis Browne, the originator of the medicine Chlorodyne, died here on 30 August 1884 and is commemorated by a plaque.

Pugin bought the land for the site at West Cliff, Ramsgate, in 1841. [1] The house was built between 1843 and 1844 by the builder George Myers. Pugin's second wife died in 1844 and it was only after his third marriage to Jane Knill in 1848 that it became a family home. The interior of the house was finally completed in 1850.
