Yumurcak TV was a Turkish children's television channel owned and operated by Samanyolu Yayıncılık A.Ş. Launched on 25 June 2007, it was closed and had its license revoked by the Radio and Television Supreme Council on 19 July 2016 due to alleged links with the Gülen Movement following the 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt. Yumurcak lives in a village in the wild west. On his way from school, he is kidnapped by the bandit Demirbilek and his gang. They ask his mom, Maureen for ransom money. Maureen seeks for help and finds Keskin. Keskin is a very sharp shooter, yet since he has caused the death of a child many years ago, he has been inactive for years.
Each 10-minute episode starts with a logo of the studio (Soyuzmultfilm in episodes 1-18, Studio 13 in episodes 17 and 18, and Christmas Films in episodes 19 and 20), after which a prologue begins. The prologue is a separate short story, approximately 2 minutes long, at the end of which the Wolf shouts "Well, [rabbit], just you wait!".
Produced in Canada by The Halifax Film Company, Poko was created by Jeff Rosen, and began production in 2003 and ended in 2006 after three production cycles. Poko aired in Canada on CBC Television in the Kids' CBC programming block, and was broadcast in Turkey on Yumurcak TV until the channel closed in mid-June
Samanyolu TV was an international TV station, with its headquarters in Istanbul. On 30 April 2016, its license was revoked and the channel closed by the Radio and Television Supreme Council due to alleged links with the Gülen Movement following the 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt.
