The 2025 Australia Cup will be the twelfth season of the Australia Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. This edition will be the fourth under the new name of the "Australia Cup" following the renaming of Football Federation Australia to Football Australia. [1] Thirty-two teams will contest the competition proper.
The 2025 Australia Cup preliminary rounds are the qualifying competition to decide teams to take part in the 2025 Australia Cup. The competition commenced in February and is scheduled to conclude in July or August with play-offs for A-League teams.
This annual competition is organised by Football Australia, known as Football Federation Australia until 2020. The Australia Cup comprises teams from the top division, A-League Men (known as simply the A-League before the 2021–22 season), as well as those from lower tiers in the Australian soccer league system. The 2024–25 season is the 21st in the history of Adelaide United Football Club since its establishment in 2003. The club are participating in the A-League Men for the 20th consecutive season and made their 10th consecutive appearance in the Australia Cup, in which they reached the semi-finals for the first time since 2019.
The 2024–25 season is Perth Glory Football Club's 20th season in the A-League Men, and their 28th season in the top flight of Australian soccer. In addition to the domestic league, Perth Glory also participated in this season's edition of the Australia Cup.
