Radio România Actualități is the first radio channel in Romania, both in coverage, number of listeners, and timeline (it is the first radio station to broadcast). It is owned by the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company. In 2013 alone, it was the most listened radio station among urban listeners. [1]
Radio Romania International (Romanian: Radio România Internațional, or RRI) is a Romanian radio station owned by the Romanian public radio broadcaster Societatea Română de Radiodifuziune (SRR, the national public radio in Romania) that broadcasts abroad. It was created in 1927 and was known as Radio Bucharest before 1989.
The first radio transmission was broadcast on November 1, 1928, 5:00 PM. The first official radio show was inaugurated by the Romanian physicist and professor Dragomir Hurmuzescu, who became the president of the Administration Council of The Radiotelephonic Broadcasting Company. On December 18, 1928, the first comic radio show was broadcast.
