The Meenambakkam bomb blast was a terrorist attack that occurred on August 2, 1984, at Meenambakkam International Airport in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India, now known as Chennai International Airport in Chennai, India. A total of 33 people were killed, and 27 others were injured.
Two bombs were exploded on 17 October 1991. The first bomb exploded when people were watching Ramlila on the public ground. After 15 minutes the second bomb went off near the hospital where injured were being taken. The bombings killed more than 40 people and injured 140 people.
