Mawgan Porth (in Cornish: Porth Maugan, meaning "St. Mawgan's cove", or Porth Glyvyan, meaning "cove of the Gluvian River") is a beach and small settlement in north Cornwall, England. It is north of Watergate Bay , approximately four miles (6 km) north of Newquay , [ 1 ] on the Atlantic Ocean coast.

Mawgan Porth Dark Age Village is a small ancient settlement consisting of 3 courtyard house complexes and a cemetery on the North coast of Cornwall dating from the 10th century. It was excavated in 1950-54 by Rupert Bruce-Mitford. The site was first discovered after the apparent after the discovery of the skeleton in 1934.

Royal Air Force St Mawgan or more simply RAF St Mawgan is a Royal Air Force station near St Mawgan and Newquay in Cornwall, England. [2] In 2008 the runway part of the site was handed over to Newquay Airport. [3] The remainder of the station continues to operate under the command of the RAF.
