But it doesn’t add anything to the genre or do anything other movies haven’t done more effectively. It felt like it was trying too hard to have suspense but ultimately didn’t and was even a little cheesy. It’s a little frustrating to watch for those reasons, but the performances are decent and there’s a couple solid moments.
The movie doesn’t actually start until Leto enters the picture and saves it from being a bore, but his big scene with Rami Malek was a huge letdown. The saving grace was the ending and its ambiguity, but God damn, who picked that happy music to be rolling while the scene faded to black?
guys, the answer is around 39:00 and in the (crime) scene @ 17:37, look at the cable/cord around the victim's arms and check out the scene @ 39:00 where Deke gets into the second repair shop and spots the cord, cause obviously the landlady made a mistake when she told him the shop that was supposed to repair the victim's fridge was called ABC when it was actualy AAA and we see the sign all the ...
Except the point of the movie isn’t to catch the killer. It’s to subvert the narrative of more classic crime dramas where there is a good guy and a bad guy and the good guys win. The entire movie paints letos character out to be a bad guy, if only circumstantially.
I watched it twice back to back. the second time watching for all of the “the little things” or details throughout the story I missed the first time. All of the actors did very well. Some people say they are inconsistent, but the reality is this movie was written and directed by the same person AND it is a psychological thriller.
Denzel could not be the killer at 2:41 right in the beginning of the movie the killer goes to grab a bag out the trunk with gloves off and his hand was a white man's hand case closed. This was just a movie glorifying covering up evidence and murders. This was an evil movie for cops to do evil and not feel bad about it.
Many license plates, house numbers, etc in many movies and tv shows are his little “ I love you” Easter eggs. Many times, the same plates are just reused again in the next movie. They probably don’t have much bearing if they are on so many vehicles in the movie.
In my opinion, there are two good things about this movie. The first is the acting. The second is that the movie tricks you, the whole time, into thinking you're watching a crime thriller; because that's how it's set, because that's how it's played, and because that's what you expect when you go to the cinema.
Just saw the new Film The Little Things with Denzel Washington Rami Malek an Jared Leto. Gotta say movie let me down despite the cast Denzel character was mostly just depressed acting in the entire film. Maleks character I liked a little more for most of it cause he had a little more life to him.
Jesus Christ, you’re a pompous arrogant azzhole. But i loved your write up and overall observation of the movie. (Aside from not having a single paragraph in your rant) I was distracted and I didn’t pay attention as closely as i should have to “the little things” or even the big things throughout the movie so thank you for explaining it….
