In theory your tablet should discriminate between ID pin grounded (host mode, sources VBUS), ID pin floated (device mode, consumes VBUS), and ID pin = 100-125k, meaning "accessory charger". In this case the tablet should serve as a host, but consume VBUS for internal charging.

I bought a Microsoft Surface primarily for taking notes during lectures and also writing notes on PDFs that I am studying. I bought it after seeing how useful this functionality was on my friends Samsungs tablet, and another friends Apple tablet. However working with PDFs has turned out to be a disaster with the Surface.
I reformatted my Inter Nextbook 10.1 tablet with keyboard, but the drivers wont install automatically. So I cannot use the touch or any of the usual functions.
I was able to install Windows 10 on similar low disk space tablet (Kiano Intelect 8 3G MS) following instructions in Installing Windows 10 on 16GB tablet article, and some other guides; this assumes that said tablet has support for microSD storage and USB OTG (most do).
