Grand Rapids Township Park is one of over 50 walking trails in West Michigan. Maintained by Grand Rapids Township, this playground and surrounding recreation area is nearing the end of a five year plan to revamp and update to accommodate the growing population in the region.
There are indoor pools and additional facilities at the Forest Hills Aquatic Center in the Township. The Kent County Park System also has the 45-acre Provin Trails nature park on 4 Mile along with the 80-acre Knapp Forest Preserve.
Located in the Knapp Corner area behind the Grand Rapids Township Fire Station, this park has a good mix of playground equipment for both toddlers and bigger kids. It also has a baseball diamond, basketball court, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, gazebo, bike trail and plenty of picnic tables.
Three ball fields, soccer field, sand volley ball, three tennis courts, basketball hoops, handicap accessible playground and nature trails that can be used for cross country skiing in the winter.
