Ranger variants [Spoiler] Prestige ranger: UA In some builds, can be interesting. Replaces the whole class; Spell-less ranger: CW You gain as spell like abilities the same spells that you can cast, but only 1/day, and a +10 to movement rate. A bad trade. Replaces spellcasting ability; Undead Stalker: DMG
Primal Speed (Ranger DM) - 24 hour buff, +5 to Ref saves, +10 to move. When combined with another Primal spell, gain Uncanny Dodge. Animal Growth (Ranger PHB) - one of the best buff spells in the game. Legend Lore - Consecrated Harrier PHB - divination Break Enchantment (Paladin PHB) - good for getting rid of some of the more unusual curse types.
Ranger Knight: 2nd: Ranger Squire: When using a sword and shield he gains either a +1 competence bonus to attacks or a +1 dodge bonus to AC (can change each round). 6th: Ranger Knight: +1 dodge bonus to AC when wearing no or light armor. 11th Ranger Lord: gains an additional +2 dodge bonus to AC Slayer: 2nd: Stalker: gains +1d6 sneak attack
Welcome to the swift hunter's handbook. Swift hunter s get their name from a feat published in complete scoundrel , so you need at least that book to be able to play one. Swift hunter s are unique in playstyle and combine several party roles, that of the support ranged/melee character with heavy damage, skill-monkey, wand user and utility.
In a way, sword and board is where the Ranger can shine, I've always thought. Take the TWF tree, and wield a sword and a shield. If you have sorcerer and cleric buddies, use a club or some sort of blunt wooden weapon in your main hand.
Work: Making a handbook compilation isn't a lot of work, but it's still some. Don't dump Work, but you don't need to put a lot into it, either. Time: This is the SAD thing about handbook compilations, that most of what you need to put in is Time to copy everything into one big list.
The substitution level says that, "when casting ranger spells", your caster level is "equal to one-half her ranger level +2" plus the caster level of any arcane class you might have, in this case 11, thus your ranger caster level is indeed 10/2+2+11=18. A mystic ranger's caster level would even be at 21 (10+11).
im working on a swift hunter/swift ambusher build. would basically be ranger 4/scout 3/rogue 13. if i can have the 2 feats count with eachother is the issue though -would my levels add to have skirmish as a lev 20 scout? skirmish as a lev 7 scout and a lev 16 scout? im confused here. if it works the way i figured it did, it would have 5d6 skirmish and 7d6 sneak attack. with the distracting ...
Takes a standard action to attack, gets 4 attacks from Greater manyshot, Can move before and after from Shot on the run, and can do it while hiding from Woodland Archer. Also has full access to all of the ranger spells.
