Conowingo is the worst kept secret so I don’t know why anyone would get mad at someone asking about it. I go pretty frequently and shoot with Mukesh, he definitely knows that place the best of anyone I shoot with there.
p.1 #7 · p.1 #7 · Lens Reach for Conowingo Dam for eagles If I was buying a used lens I would give consideration to a 500mm f/4 which is a lot easier to manage and when you add a TC-14 III teleconverter it provides the capabilities of a 700mm f/5.6 lens with excellent IQ.

Just a few shots from Conowingo Dam in Maryland. The last one is boring with a white sky but loved the position. Very nice Eric. Are these from last Fall/Winter or recent? If recent - how is the eagle activity at the dam? It is a two hour drive for me and I usually just go in November/December. Thanks: Jul 26, 2021 at 09:47 AM
I see many wonderful photos of Bald Eagles here from different sites and have read that Conowingo Dam is a good spot in the east to view them. Does anyone on this forum know what would be the best time line to view and photograph the eagles at this site and also information on nearby hotel, motel accomodations? A bit of an update, Conowingo Dam was closed a couple months ago due to COVID. Harford County, where the dam is located in, just announced that they will shut down indoor and outdoor events on county facilities, like sports fields, at 5:00 PM tomorrow due to the rise of COVID cases.
