Wa Airport (IATA: WZA, ICAO: DGLW) is an airport serving Wa, a city in the Upper West Region of Ghana which is also its capital. [1] The airport is operated by Ghana Airports Company Limited . It is the fifth busiest commercial airport in Ghana with over 25,000 passengers passing through in 2022.
Wa is a town and the capital of the Wa Municipal District and the Upper West Region of Ghana. [3] It has a population of 200,672 people according to the 2021 census. [4] [5]The town is a transportation hub for the Upper West region, with major roads leading north to Hamile, and northeast to Tumu and the Upper East Region.
