Strontium 90 were a short-lived British band active in 1977 whose members were Mike Howlett (bass, vocals) from Gong, Sting (vocals, guitar, bass) and Stewart Copeland (drums) from the Police, and Andy Summers (guitar). The band are most notable for introducing Summers to Sting and Copeland.
Strontium 90: Police Academy is the only album by Strontium 90, released by Mike Howlett in 1997. This album consists of live tracks recorded at Gong's reunion concert in Paris on 28 May 1977, five studio tracks recorded in London just before the concert, and Sting's solo demo of "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic".

The band recorded several demos and played at a Paris Gong reunion concert in May 1977, but disbanded when Summers left to join Copeland and Sting's other project, the Police. An archival collection of Strontium 90 material was released two decades later as Strontium 90: Police Academy.
Notably, the band performed in the 1982/83 second annual MTV New Year's Eve concert in New York City with Duran Duran and A Flock of Seagulls. They also wrote and recorded 4 songs for the film, Police Academy (notably the song "I'm Gonna Be Somebody").
