The Roland RS-202 was a polyphonic string synthesizer, introduced by Roland in 1976. It was the successor to the Roland RS-101, released in 1975. [1] [2]The synthesizer operated using sawtooth wave oscillators, which used a frequency divider in a similar manner to an electronic organ to provide full polyphony across a five-octave keyboard.

The Roland MC-202 (MicroComposer) is a monophonic analog synthesizer and music sequencer released by Roland in 1983. It was the first groovebox . [ 1 ] Its synth is similar to the TB-303 bass synth and the SH-101 synthesizer , featuring one voltage-controlled oscillator with simultaneous saw and square/pulse-width waveforms.
Like the SP-202, the SP-303 utilizes 8 pads, 4 soundbanks, and an external mic. The sampler provides up to three minutes and twelve seconds of sampling. The sample time can be expanded by the use of SmartMedia cards (8MB-64MB supported). The SP-303 features twenty-six internal effects that can be applied to samples and external sources as well.
