McMahon or MacMahon (/ m ə k ˈ m æ n / mək-MAN or / m ə k ˈ m ɑː n / mək-MAHN; older Irish orthography: Mac Mathghamhna; reformed Irish orthography: Mac Mathúna; meaning "son of the bear") [1] is an Irish surname.
