The Berwick Area School District is a midsized, rural, public school district. Berwick Area School District encompasses approximately 101 square miles (260 km 2 ), spanning portions of two central Pennsylvania counties.
The Berwick wrestling team won back to back District 2 championships in 2007 and 2008, as well as finishing in the top Eight PIAA AA Team Championships in 2008. The school mascot is the Bulldog and the sports teams are called the Bulldogs, or just "Dawgs" for short.

Curry embarked on his high school head coaching career in 1967, achieving a commendable four-year winning record at Lake-Lehman School District within the Wyoming Valley Conference. Subsequently, he transitioned to Berwick Area in 1971, where he remained until his departure as head coach in 2005.
