The 377th became the 377th Regiment (Basic Combat Training), as did the 378th and 379th, and all were reassigned new training sites. [6] In 1966, the division received a distinctive unit insignia. The brigade became the 155th Armored Brigade on 1 November 1973 when the 30th Armored was split up into separate brigades. [1] 30th Armored assistant commander Brigadier General Guy J. Gravelee Jr. became the first 155th commander, and it took the number of the 155th Infantry Regiment, the oldest Mississippi National Guard unit, which traced its lineage back to 1798.
